About the role

Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provides front line support to Piece Part Repair systems throughout the engine overhaul process for the assigned repair cells, as well as providing technical support mainly in metallurgical/material subject as required to the various internal engineering teams and to the Customer Program Management teams.

  • Support the Repair Cells, in their daily operations by developing production repairs and issuing approved deviations and technical instructions as required
  • Introduce required technical instructions into the daily operations
  • Initiate, coordinate and industrialize engine manufactures Source Approved Repairs
  • Initiate and update process improvement and cost saving programs in the Component Repair Cells
  • Develop repair standards and material salvage programs
  • Participate in establishing component rework packages (WorkScoping)
  • Investigate and provide reports on incidents, malfunctions and deviations from the standard repair processes
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment and processes for the Component Repair Cells
  • Provide technical liaison with engine manufactures on repair issues
  • Provide technical liaison with outside vendors on repair issues
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for the Component Repair Cells (shop floor and laboratory support)
  • Provide technical reports and data analysis for customer activity within the operations
  • Support matters related to configuration control of assigned repair cells.

What you bring to the role

  • Mechanical, Aeronautical, Materials, Metallurgical or equivalent Engineering Degree
  • 5-years minimum relevant experience or equivalent
  • Experience in handling technical aspects of maintenance repairs of aero engines in an engine shop
  • Proven ability to support investigations, prepare technical reports and recommendations
  • Experience in handling and troubleshooting engine problems
  • Ability to summarize, organizational planning and problem solver
  • Organizational skills and tolerance to stress
  • Knowledge of special processes: water jet, plasma, shot peening, welding, cleaning systems.
  • Be customer focused and result driven
  • Be a strong team player
  • Strong communication skills
  • Integrity, respect, honesty and judgement
  • Fluent in French & English.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Basic knowledge of gas turbine engines.
