Job Summary
The IT Configuration Analyst plays a key role in our Enterprise IT Service Management Organisation, reporting to the Practice Manager, Service Asset & Configuration Management. This role is responsible for carrying out enterprise Asset & Configuration Management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Processing Advance Shipping Notice files from vendors accurately.
- Logging and assigning tickets to the enterprise Asset & Configuration Management queue and processing general requests to create or update assets and the CMDB.
- Maintaining Asset and Configuration models within Service Now.
- Creating and validating asset and configuration item records in ServiceNow for Merger & Acquisition projects.
- Collaborating with Asset Management Specialists to ensure asset and configuration information accuracy.
- Onboarding new infrastructure devices into the CMDB, ensuring all attributes are recorded accurately.
- Assisting in processing office closure asset and configuration requests.
- Analyzing data to discover and resolve asset and configuration discrepancies.
- Monitoring asset connectors to ensure asset information and Cis in ServiceNow are being updated correctly.
- Ensuring asset-to-configuration item creation is occurring and accurate.
- Working with asset management teams to identify and resolve missing data records.
Requirements
Requirements include:
- A clear understanding of the ITIL framework and ability to apply ITIL principles within an IT service management environment, ITIL qualification as standard.
- Solid knowledge and experience of ServiceNow.
- Enthusiasm and dedication to drive continual improvement and change.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Process and detail-oriented with a methodical and planned approach to achieving goals.
- Ability to quickly gain the confidence of the business and colleagues through building efficient working relationships and exhibiting excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, thriving on change, and engendering a collaborative approach.
- Acting as an advocate for the IT Organisation both externally and internally.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
