Position Overview

What is the opportunity?

As a Commercial Banking Relationship Specialist at RBC, you will engage in a proactive, face-to-face client engagement role within our Commercial Banking division. The comprehensive training program, lasting approximately 28 weeks, is primarily conducted in a Commercial Centre, where you will be paired with a mentor to guide you throughout your learning journey. This role equips you to provide exceptional, responsive, and proactive service to commercial business clients in areas such as accounts, operational services, credit, lending, and deposits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored financial advice and solutions that add value to your clients.
  • Utilize sales enabling tools, including sales planning, prospecting, and pre-call preparation.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to enhance the client experience.
  • Formulate a needs-based sales strategy for all clients and prospects to increase revenue, strengthen client relationships, and maintain high client loyalty.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in commercial lending is preferred, along with prior banking experience in a relationship management capacity.
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree, ideally in commerce or business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in a business development role, particularly in acquiring new clients, prospecting, and cold calling.
  • Experience in financial statement analysis and computer modeling.
  • Familiarity with emerging communication technologies (e.g., web-based meetings, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications).
