About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our team in Kelowna. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing building systems in accordance with municipal or provincial building code and other applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports necessary to deliver a project.
  • Design building systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, fire protection systems, plumbing, and draining systems.
  • Develop layouts and design of mechanical building systems, coordinating with structural, architectural, and electrical components.
  • Prepare calculations to size ductwork, gas, HVAC, piping, plumbing, and drainage, incorporating calculations into technical drawings.
  • Respond to internal and external communication regarding project or design status, reporting to the principal and/or project manager.
Requirements
  • Minimum four years of direct industry experience in mechanical building services.
  • Diploma or degree from an electrical building services/engineering program.
  • Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks Manage, and Dynamo software.
  • Knowledge of the British Columbia Building Code, Plumbing Code, and Energy Step Code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
