About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at Williams Engineering Canada. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in assisting on various projects, contributing to the technical capability and production requirements of our Service Line, and providing exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical reports that meet high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with all Service Lines to extract and relay relevant information for complex projects, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of building codes and regulations, applying them accurately to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with fee proposals by assessing time budgets required to execute project tasks, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Operate independently on routine projects, taking ownership of tasks and delivering results.
  • Review and help complete complex mechanical systems drawings, ensuring technical standards are met.
  • Complete phases of projects within budgeted durations, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior teammates, reviewing drawings and ensuring technical standards are met.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving quality control, ensuring consistency and excellence in all aspects of the project.
  • Share expertise with other offices, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Prepare technical designs for building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems, and fuel systems.
  • Select equipment and components to achieve goals of the mechanical system, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • May resolve mechanical system construction conflicts with contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution.
  • May resolve mechanical system construction technical issues and cost implications, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Conduct site reviews and write reports of observations and conclusions, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Perpetuate, clarify, and embody the company's purpose and core values, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Teammates are required to adhere to the company policies and guidelines, as well as the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.
  • Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Typically a graduate of a 1-2 year technical certificate or diploma program in Mechanical Technology.
  • 4 – 6 years of experience in a related field.
  • May hold or be working towards a C.E.T. designation.
  • May be working towards R.E.T. designation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen well, respect diversity of perspectives, and communicate clearly and succinctly.
  • Application knowledge of company systems and programs, including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
  • Able to identify innovative technical approaches to building mechanical systems engineering.
  • Ability to identify risks and satisfy both client needs and company needs.
