Calgary, Alberta, Canada Believeco:Partners Full time

This pivotal leadership position will oversee the Marketing Client Partner function for the Calgary division, while also serving as a key architect of office culture and a senior communicator among all team members across various disciplines. The individual will actively pursue new business opportunities in Western Canada and potentially the United States. A deep expertise in marketing is essential, along with a strong proficiency in public relations, consulting, and communications. This role will act as a senior advisor to clients and will be deeply involved in the management and oversight of all marketing and advertising initiatives related to this portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., strategy, creative, media, digital, social) to deliver exceptional recommendations, outputs, and results.
  • Proactively develop new business opportunities: lead RFP submissions, spearhead pitches, and identify new business prospects—not only for marketing but for the agency as a whole, recognizing where we can provide comprehensive value to clients.
  • Guide and mentor a team of Client Partner marketing professionals, offering daily support, oversight, and coaching to uphold high standards of deliverables. This includes managing recruitment as necessary and recommending structural changes to optimize team efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Lead integrated business initiatives: demonstrate comfort across all mediums (from strategy to concept to execution) and possess experience with high-profile national accounts.
  • Work closely with other senior team members to promote our integrated service offerings, taking the time to thoroughly understand our capabilities and expertise.
  • As a senior member of the Calgary office, contribute significantly to overall office cohesion, morale, communication, and leadership.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • 15+ years of experience in agency or client-side marketing.
  • Extensive experience in integrated marketing communications (i.e., paid, owned, and earned) with demonstrable success.
  • Proven track record in business development, particularly in Western Canada, through proactive outreach and successful pitch/win rates for incoming RFPs/RFQs.
  • Comfortable operating within an integrated agency environment, with the ability to cross-sell and identify unique opportunities to enhance client value.
  • Exceptional leadership and influence capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills.
  • A commitment to achieving outstanding results for every client.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: a confident leader, capable of mentoring individuals at various levels, contributing positively to company culture, and building strong client relationships.
  • Solid business acumen: adept at forecasting and managing the profitability, hygiene, and efficiency of the portfolio.

Preferred:

  • A degree or diploma in marketing, public relations, or business communications.
  • Direct experience in public relations or Indigenous advisory is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel across Canada and the USA.
  • A proven history of identifying and securing new business opportunities (strong pitch/win rate).

A robust network in Western Canada; experience or connections in the US is a plus.
