Northern Health Authority is seeking a dedicated Mental Health & Addiction Clinician to join our Mobile Support Team. This role offers the unique opportunity to provide essential mental health and addiction services directly to First Nations communities across Northern BC.

Your Impact

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for clients facing diverse mental health and addiction challenges.
  • Deliver direct psychosocial care, counseling, and group therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of First Nations individuals and families.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, community partners, and other professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
  • Provide crisis response services and support during challenging situations.
  • Contribute to community development initiatives focused on mental wellness within First Nations communities.
Your Expertise

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled individual with:

  • A deep understanding of Aboriginal/First Nations mental health needs and cultural perspectives.
  • Knowledge of conflict management principles and experience working within diverse cultural contexts.
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills, including the ability to conduct thorough evaluations and develop effective care plans.
  • Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and foster collaborative relationships.
  • A commitment to providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care.
