Extrusion Department ManagerReporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Extrusion Department Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the extrusion department. This position demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety, productivity, and quality.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership and Management: Effectively manage and motivate a team of production personnel, ensuring adherence to collective agreements and fostering a positive work environment.
- Production Oversight: Collaborate with the Production Shift Supervisor to achieve production targets and maintain optimal workflow within the department.
- Performance Enhancement: Monitor employee performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement training programs to enhance skills and productivity.
- Safety and Compliance: Champion a culture of safety by enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any potential hazards promptly.
- Process Optimization: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain clear and effective communication with colleagues, suppliers, and clients, both verbally and in writing.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to manage teams effectively in a unionized setting.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret production reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both French and English.
