Hood Packaging Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Extrusion Department. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe production of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Manage a team of production staff while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Production Planning and Control: Develop and implement production plans to meet departmental and company goals, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards, and that the department is compliant with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing waste.
- Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities to production staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with production staff, other departments, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering or business administration.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to analyze production reports and make informed decisions.
- Language: Bilingualism in French and English is required.
