About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at CHILL & GRILL CAFE. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed, and maintain accurate inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean kitchen and work areas to the highest standards, ensuring that all equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitized.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Provide support and guidance to newcomers and refugees in the kitchen, including assistance with foreign credential recognition and cultural adaptation.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training to all employees.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
