About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at CHILL & GRILL CAFE. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained, and take steps to address any issues or concerns.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet our culinary needs.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean kitchen and work areas, ensuring that they are clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Provide support and guidance to newcomers and refugees, helping them to integrate into our kitchen team and develop their culinary skills.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency while ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Language: English
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week
