Strategic Project Manager

The Strategic Project Manager role presents a distinctive opportunity to engage in a variety of corporate initiatives from the conception stage to execution. This position is accountable for overseeing all strategic and interdepartmental projects, including organization-wide and special initiatives. The ideal candidate will provide insights, analysis, and expertise across a spectrum of programs related to project management, strategic planning, and decision-making processes. Working closely with project leaders across the organization, this role ensures adherence to project management best practices and serves as a central advisory resource. The successful applicant will actively identify opportunities to enhance project workflows and collaborate with leadership to implement these improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Governance

Provide mentorship and guidance to new project managers in crafting concise verbal and written reports. Advise senior leadership on enterprise-wide and interdepartmental project priorities and recommend resource allocations to uphold corporate values. Manage a diverse range of projects executed by large, cross-functional teams. Collaborate with project leaders to resolve challenges that may impede project success, ensuring alignment with the approved risk management framework. Partner with all departments to identify and implement enhancements to project management processes. Stay informed on emerging trends in project management to continually refine EightSix Network's project management capabilities and service delivery. Ensure that project management documentation is adaptable based on project size and complexity. Assist project managers in simplifying complex project decisions for clear reporting. Support project managers in completing necessary documentation as needed. Advocate for project teams to foster consensus when required. Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders. Develop and manage all aspects of the project management site, including updates to project management materials. Aid senior leadership in preparing status reports for the Board and Executive Team, including the rollout of new templates as necessary.

Strategic Initiatives

Assist in the preparation of strategic documentation. Create presentations and documentation to inform senior leadership and/or the Board on special projects. Support departmental colleagues with related tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in a relevant field such as business administration. PMP certification is highly desirable. 5-7 years of proven experience in project management. Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous. Strong understanding of software development release cycles and project management methodologies. Proven track record in leading process improvement initiatives. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Visio. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to advocate for corporate initiatives. Strong negotiation skills with a capacity for empathy and openness to diverse opinions. Self-motivated with a collaborative and strategic approach.
