Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Leader in Strategic Initiatives & Innovation to become a vital part of the Regional Home Health team. This role is essential for driving our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational leadership, coordination, and mentorship on diverse projects, programs, and strategic initiatives that align with the organization's mission, vision, and values, fostering organizational transformation.
  • Conduct evaluations of staffing resources, collaborative relationships, associated workflows, and current patient care experiences.
  • Identify and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical operations, services, and procedural changes throughout the organization.
  • Implement improvement strategies (utilizing suitable project management techniques) to ensure the needs of patients, clients, and residents are effectively addressed.
  • Offer expert decision-making support for service and care delivery innovations, leveraging similar opportunities across the region.
  • Provide formal expertise in process improvement, employing various models and quality improvement tools in planning, training, and project execution.
  • Assist in the development and assessment of key performance metrics.
  • Engage in committees and meetings to contribute to organizational goals.
  • Cultivate effective relationships and strategic partnerships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of policies and practices with evolving organizational strategies. Primary working relationships will include clinical and corporate staff, Human Resources, Information Management/Information Systems (IMIS), and Decision Support.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field, accompanied by five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience, including expertise in process improvement, modeling, and reengineering within a clinical context.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in utilizing process improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Preferred certification in process improvement, with experience in leading continuous process enhancement and redesign projects.
  • Current registration with a recognized professional association is advantageous.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong grasp of change management, project management, and communication principles, enabling the development and oversight of change initiatives. Applies change management methodologies in the design and development of various programs, frameworks, and tools.
  • Excellent project management, prioritization, and planning abilities in designing and re-designing strategic clinical transformations and process improvements.
  • Proven business acumen in effectively managing resources.
  • Awareness of current change management practices and trends, along with a solid understanding of key issues related to healthcare operations and service delivery.
  • Familiarity with healthcare disciplines and their roles within the healthcare system.
  • Significant experience in facilitating interdisciplinary groups.
  • Knowledge of business analysis and project management methodologies.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence key personnel across various organizational areas, promoting positive change through awareness, understanding, acceptance, and engagement.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate work groups and present project findings and results effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with standard desktop applications and internet tools.
