Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and planning support to our business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain program cost tracking metrics to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide project managers with timely financial reports, budgets, and project forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Perform project cost analysis and forecast actual costs and future commitments to optimize resource allocation.
  • Develop standard costing metrics for the maintenance organization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Analyze production costs and provide recommendations for improvement to enhance profitability.
  • Analyze maintenance operations and equipment availability and utilization to identify areas for optimization.
  • Perform month-end cost accounting support for financial close to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Work with the finance team to maintain project accounting, budgeting, and capital planning systems.
  • Monitor and control expenses within allotted project budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Recommend changes in operating procedures to increase efficiencies and improve productivity.
  • Lead cost management policies to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Contribute to yearly operation plans and budgets to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Review program budgets with project managers to ensure all purchasing is tracked in alignment with modeling.
  • Compile, analyze, and prepare various financial/statistical information and reports to support business decisions.
  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management to inform corrective action.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a University program with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional CPA designation would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar role preferably in a multi-divisional organization.
  • Experience with project accounting and reporting for medium to large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and effective time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to navigate various software systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to excel in a team environment and contribute to a diverse team.
