Position Overview:
As a Medical Technologist at VCH, you will be an integral part of our laboratory team, working under general supervision to conduct a range of diagnostic tests utilizing both manual techniques and automated systems. Your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Welcoming patients and collecting necessary specimens.
- Inputting data accurately and validating test results.
- Maintaining laboratory instruments and preparing solutions in accordance with established protocols and safety regulations.
- Engaging in training initiatives to acquire knowledge of new testing methodologies and laboratory procedures.
Essential Qualifications:
- Certification from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) with foundational laboratory training.
- Basic understanding of laboratory operations, research methodologies, and related healthcare fields.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team, manage pressure, and work autonomously.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
- Proficiency in operating relevant laboratory equipment.
