About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments within a designated laboratory area.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments within a designated laboratory area.
- Be responsible for functions such as greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, validating and reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
- Participate in departmental training programs in chemistry, hematology and other related areas with a view to learning new/existing test and procedures for use in the Laboratory.
