About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, within a designated laboratory area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of tests, including chemistry, hematology, and other related areas, using manual and automated instruments.
  • Collect and receive specimens, validate and report test results, and maintain instruments and solutions in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Participate in departmental training programs to learn new and existing tests and procedures.

You will be part of a dynamic team at Bella Coola General Hospital, working in a laboratory setting with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care. Our team is committed to providing excellent service and working collaboratively to achieve our goals.

Requirements

  • Certification by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and basic care training.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques, including quality control.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
