Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to become part of the Complex Activation Medical Unit. We invite you to be a vital member of our healthcare community.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse at Vancouver Coastal Health include:

Deliver nursing care to assigned patients, functioning both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the Complex Activation Medical Unit. Engage in discharge planning, advocate for clients, and educate patients and their families about health issues and wellness. Enhance the quality of life from the perspective of patients and their families. Accurately document care provided and respond to incidents in line with established policies. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain and advance personal clinical competencies. Participate in designated hospital committees and approved research initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Skills & Abilities

Proven nursing practice skills relevant to the Complex Activation Medical Unit. In-depth knowledge of pathophysiology associated with common diagnoses and clinical situations. Competence in performing nursing assessments and interventions for various medical conditions. Ability to conduct focused assessments and develop care plans based on comprehensive information. Proficiency in using medical equipment and maintaining competency in relevant technologies. Skilled in documenting patient care accurately and in a timely manner. Expertise in managing patients with complex medical needs, including pain management and IV therapy. Demonstrated ability to perform within the RN scope of practice and adhere to care standards.
