Join the Team at Vancouver Coastal Health
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is in search of a dedicated Registered Nurse to become a vital member of the Orthopaedics & Trauma unit. This role is essential in providing outstanding care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to designated patients, working independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Engage in discharge planning, advocate for patient needs, and provide education to patients and their families regarding health maintenance and wellness.
- Enhance the overall quality of life for patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and manage incidents according to established guidelines.
- Work alongside other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Continuously develop and refine clinical skills.
- Participate in hospital committees, teams, and research initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Skills & Competencies
- Proven expertise in nursing practice for the specified patient population.
- Ability to formulate and execute effective care strategies.
- Strong analytical and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in counseling and educating patients and their families.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through initiative and self-reliance.
- Skilled in clinical procedures and equipment utilization.
- Competent in CPR techniques and the use of related apparatus.
- Physical ability to fulfill job responsibilities.
