Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Specialist to join our team at Seven Oaks General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert clinical care to patients with chronic renal failure, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert nursing care to patients with chronic renal failure, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Initiate diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions as required.
- Act as a clinical and information resource for patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Participate in orientation and educational activities to support the development of healthcare teams.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Minimum three years recent Nephrology nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree or equivalent.
- CNA Nephrology certification preferred.
- Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course or equivalent required.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.
- Active participation in professional associations, e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
- Valid driver's license and use of own vehicle required.
- Scope of practice as documented in a Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to care through a family-centered nursing approach.
- Advanced clinical knowledge in subspecialty.
- Commitment to maintaining current knowledge in area of expertise through reviewing literature and attending continuing education in services, workshops, and conferences.
- Expertise and competence in nursing practice, interviewing, counseling, teaching, and group dynamics.
- Ability to work independently but collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with referring physicians and nurses and community members.
- Displays initiative, accountability, good time management, decision-making ability, leadership, and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge and skills in research and quality assurance.
- Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows.
- Participates in quality assurance activities.
- Maintains necessary reports, records, statistics.
- Participates on committees as required.
- Adheres to all safety and health policies, regulations, and safe work practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
