SAGKEENG CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (SCFS) is seeking a FULL-TIME Clinical Psychologist. In this role, you will embody empathy, understanding, and patience while fostering a secure therapeutic atmosphere. You will become part of a creative, proactive, and dynamic multi-disciplinary team. Your knowledge of SCFS, Sagkeeng First Nation, and Indigenous culture will be essential. This position reports to the Clinical Director of the SCFS Biidaaziiway Gamik Unit. SCFS provides a competitive salary and benefits package.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a CPA accredited institution.
  • Registered with the Psychological Association of Manitoba.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant clinical practices as a certified clinical psychologist.
  • Proven experience in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.
  • Skilled in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments.
  • Demonstrated capability to create and deliver psycho-educational and skills-based training programs.
  • Ability to provide compassionate and effective support to children and their families.
  • Awareness of cultural and socio-economic factors that influence service delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Willingness to embrace new techniques and best practices.
  • Understanding of Manitoba's health and social welfare framework.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours to achieve productivity objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support various mental health promotion and program initiatives.
  • Deliver a comprehensive range of psychological services, including biopsychosocial assessments, test administration and interpretation, diagnosis, and intensive therapy for children and parents.
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral parent training interventions for children with externalizing disorders.
  • Conduct family-centered interventions with parents and significant support individuals.
  • Collaborate with professionals from other disciplines.
  • Provide clinical supervision to mental health clinicians and trainees.
  • Offer consultation to mental health and outreach clinicians/staff.
  • Engage in all aspects of the care continuum and the child's mental health pathway.

Qualified candidates will be required to undergo a criminal record check, child abuse registry check, and a prior contact check as a condition of employment. Preference will be given to Sagkeeng Community members and Indigenous candidates who self-identify.
