Role Overview: Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the Educational Psychologist collaborates with the Student Services Team, educational staff, families, and other clinical professionals to deliver a wide array of psychological services to students from Nursery to Grade 12. This includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, consultation, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Educational Psychology with relevant supervised clinical experience.
  • Valid certification as an Educational Psychologist.
  • Completion of formal training in psycho-educational evaluations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency in technology.
  • Robust clinical skills and a comprehensive understanding of child and adolescent development, cognitive processes, mental health, and learning and behavioral disorders.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse exceptional needs.
  • Experience engaging with Indigenous communities and employing culturally responsive practices is preferred.
  • Training in Threat Assessment and Trauma-Informed Care is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive range of school-based psychological services, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting and interpreting psycho-educational assessments for students facing learning, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborating with educational staff and families to identify and develop support strategies for student needs.
  • Participating in Student Support team meetings to offer recommendations regarding learning strategies, interventions, and specialized programming.
  • Preparing and submitting written reports in accordance with organizational timelines.
  • Coordinating with external agencies to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to student planning and intervention.
  • Facilitating referrals to external agencies in consultation with educational personnel and/or the Student Services team.
  • Working alongside the Student Services Team to provide professional development for educational staff and families.
  • Offering support in Threat Assessment, Crisis Response, and/or during Tragic Events as necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in line with professional standards.
  • Adhering to the policies of the Frontier School Division.
