About the Role

Exp Global Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Markham, ON. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for assisting our project principal with managing projects, working collaboratively with senior and junior engineers, and participating in design meetings with clients and consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the project principal with managing projects, including coordinating with clients, architects, and other consultants.
  • Work collaboratively with senior and junior engineers to design and develop structural solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
  • Participate in design meetings with clients and consultants to ensure that projects meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract documents.
Requirements
  • Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
  • P. Eng. Licence is required.
  • Preferably 10+ years' experience in structural engineering with a focus on building structural analysis and design.
  • Proven experience with complete design of projects including analysis, design, detailing, and construction administration for various building structure projects.
  • Experience with managing team of engineers and drafters, and full coordination with the client, architect, and other disciplines.
  • Experience with NBCC, CSA standards.
  • Experience with American and other international codes and standards is an asset.
  • Field experience on construction sites, conducting general reviews for compliance with drawings and specifications, and writing site reports.
  • Experience with Etabs, SAFE, SAP and other similar Structural software.
  • Team player with the proven ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
  • Hard worker, who is eager and willing to assume responsibility.
  • Commitment and dedication to client service as well as technical excellence.
  • Demonstrated and effective communication skills and the ability to handle changing needs while working effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to determine what work is required and draw rational conclusions from all available information.
  • A valid driver's license is an asset.
