Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Critical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and social needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans to address these needs and promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions. Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and caregivers to provide education and support.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and timing. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, assessments, and care plans. Prepare and submit reports as required, including patient progress updates and any concerns or issues.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines in critical care nursing. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care nursing, with a strong focus on patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
