Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Acute Medical Unit. As a critical care registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, assessing patients, and developing care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, collect information from various sources, and make nursing diagnoses to determine the best course of action.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with patients, families, and the interprofessional care team to develop and implement care plans, and ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Nursing Interventions: Plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions to improve patient outcomes, and make referrals to the interprofessional care team as needed.
  • Education and Support: Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
  • Documentation and Quality Improvement: Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, and interventions according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures, and participate in quality improvement activities to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment, provide nursing care through appropriate interventions, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interprofessional care team.
