Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Critical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and social needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans to address these needs and promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions. Communicate clearly and concisely with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health, prevent complications, and facilitate smooth transitions to home or other care settings.
- Documentation and Quality Improvement: Accurately and thoroughly document patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
- Leadership and Professional Development: Demonstrate leadership skills by mentoring new staff members, participating in unit-based committees, and engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and advances in the field.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience: Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Certifications: Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
