Position:
Loss Prevention Officer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Loss Prevention Officer to join our security team. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in a collaborative environment and are passionate about safeguarding our assets and ensuring a secure shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct surveillance and investigations at various store locations to monitor and maintain loss prevention systems.
  • Identify potential areas of loss and collaborate with the team to implement shrink reduction strategies.
  • Detect and apprehend individuals committing theft or other criminal activities against the company.
  • Gather evidence and prepare detailed reports for potential court proceedings.
  • Participate in special assignments such as lock repairs, key control, and staff training initiatives.
  • Ensure the overall security and safety of our retail locations.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to remain composed and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations.
  • Proven commitment to protecting individuals and property in a lawful manner.
  • Strong adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, essential for report writing and court testimony.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours across various locations.
  • Previous experience in loss prevention or related fields within the criminal justice system is advantageous.
  • Relevant security training, first aid certification, and knowledge of use of force protocols are beneficial.
  • Possession of a provincial security worker license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
Work Schedule:
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
