Position Overview:
The Government of Manitoba is actively seeking a qualified individual for the role of Compliance Auditor. This position is integral to ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and standards within the financial services sector.

Employment Conditions:
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the province

Essential Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A completed professional accounting program or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience
  • Comprehensive audit experience, including financial, compliance, and operational audits
  • Proficiency in Canadian auditing standards and accounting principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Robust analytical, research, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Desired Skills:
Preferred candidates will have:

  • Experience in interpreting and applying legislation in a regulatory context
  • Knowledge of the real estate and mortgage brokerage sectors
  • Experience in conducting investigations

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Registrar, the Compliance Auditor will:

  • Conduct audits of registrants under applicable acts to ensure compliance with legislation and policies
  • Perform compliance audits, finalize results, and review financial reports
  • Conduct investigations stemming from audit findings
