Position Overview

The Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a Permanent Curriculum Consultant specializing in Performing and Visual Arts. This role is integral to our curriculum consultant team, which operates under the guidance of the Divisional Principal of Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

The Curriculum Consultant will be tasked with:

  • Advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion across all educational environments.
  • Ensuring equitable access to programming and pedagogical practices.
  • Facilitating divisional program events and initiatives.
  • Enhancing student performance and success.
  • Modernizing teaching practices for educators.
  • Encouraging adaptive teaching strategies.

Specific Duties

As a Performing and Visual Arts Consultant, your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing current and new Provincial curriculum across all grade levels.
  • Leading research and promoting innovative practices in visual arts education.
  • Coordinating professional development focused on play-based, inquiry-based, and project-based learning.
  • Supporting divisional initiatives related to performing and visual arts.
  • Collaborating with fellow consultants on shared goals and projects.
  • Consulting on budgetary and policy matters related to the arts education portfolio.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Expertise in K-12 Performing and Visual Arts curricula.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into educational practices.

Qualifications

  • Valid teaching certification from the Province of Manitoba.
  • Bachelor's, Post Baccalaureate, or Master's Degree in Education with a focus on Performing and/or Visual Arts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French is an asset.
  • Diverse teaching experience.
