Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Nursing Instructor to join our team at Assiniboine Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our Practical Nursing program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Develop and deliver curriculum for Practical Nursing courses, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
  • Course Development: Modify and/or develop course objectives, course outlines, curricula, and evaluation procedures and instruments.
  • Student Support: Provide academic assistance to students during consultation hours, and maintain all course-related records.
  • Course Materials: Identify, prepare, and organize course materials and learning resources for course delivery.
  • Program Knowledge: Share passion and knowledge of the nursing profession with students in the program.
  • Administrative Duties: Enthusiasm and ability to deliver results in classroom management, student evaluation, academic advising, and related administrative duties.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Relevant post-secondary nursing education and significant industry experience in acute care.
  • Teaching Experience: Teaching in an adult environment is highly desirable, along with experience using Moodle.
  • Credentials: Appropriate nursing credential and other relevant post-secondary education.
  • Registration: Registered and in good standing with CRNM, CRPNM, or CLPNM, and have relevant experience in teaching (theory, lab, and clinical).
  • Skills and Abilities: Solid understanding of program and curriculum development, Indigenization and decolonization of curriculum, classroom instruction, assessment and evaluation, student advising, and group facilitation.
  • Technical Skills: Well-developed technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Word.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Highly developed communication skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to work effectively as part of the Practical Nursing team.
