Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Business Development to lead our business development and distribution efforts in Eastern Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Business Development: Perform proactive sales calls, meetings, and sales campaigns to promote product offerings to existing and new financial advisors and investors.
  2. Asset Growth: Raise and retain assets under management within a geographic territory by conducting proactive phone calls and one-on-one and group appointments with financial advisors and direct investors.
  3. Presentation and Sales: Deliver effective presentations to promote investment offerings and competitive advantages.
  4. Business Planning: Develop and implement a business plan and sales strategy.
  5. Industry Knowledge: Develop and enhance industry and product knowledge to effectively communicate and build credibility with financial advisors and investors.
  6. Reporting and Analysis: Update daily call activities and maintain accurate advisor records within Salesforce on a timely basis; perform ongoing territorial sales and asset reporting.
  7. Market Trends: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market, advisor, and investor trends.
  8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with and actively support efforts of other Distribution Team members.
  9. Performance Targets: Achieve activity targets.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of financial services sales experience.
  3. Industry Expertise: Private equity, alternative investment, equity trading and/or wealth management experience is preferred.
  4. Licensing and Registration: MUST be actively licensed and registered with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA).
  5. Travel Requirements: Eligibility to travel between the US and Canada to attend meetings; ability to travel as needed.
  6. Product Selling Agreements: Knowledge of or experience in securing product selling agreements with Broker/Dealers.
  7. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Highly self-motivated to build relationships and close sales; effective communicator (written and verbal) with sound interpersonal and team building skills.
  8. Time Management and Adaptability: Ability to prioritize activities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
