Position Overview

As a Speech-Language Pathologist at Monarch House LTD, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating individuals with communication and swallowing challenges. This permanent position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week and is conducted primarily in clients' homes across various locations.

Qualifications
  • Education: A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant experience is essential.
Work Environment

This role involves working directly in clients' residences, necessitating a valid driver's license for travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer comprehensive speech-language assessments and evaluations.
  • Diagnose and address disorders related to speech, voice, language, cognitive-linguistic skills, and swallowing.
  • Guide and mentor technicians and students in the field.
  • Oversee the work of technical and support personnel.
  • Engage in research focused on communication disorders and the advancement of diagnostic methodologies.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific communication challenges.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to establish both group and personalized care strategies.
  • Recruit and train new staff members.
  • Provide educational resources and support to patients and their families regarding communication and swallowing issues.
  • Offer insights to families about the implications of hearing loss and available treatment options.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position includes supervising 1 to 2 staff members.

Certifications and Licenses
  • Certification from the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • Licensure as mandated by provincial or territorial authorities.
