Position Overview

As a Licensed Speech-Language Therapist at Monarch House LTD, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Education: A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Work Environment

Your work will primarily take place in clients' homes across various locations, providing a dynamic and engaging work setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language assessments and evaluations.
  • Diagnose and address issues related to speech, voice, language, cognitive-linguistic skills, and swallowing.
  • Instruct and mentor technicians and students in the field.
  • Supervise technical and support personnel.
  • Engage in research related to communication disorders and the development of diagnostic tools.
  • Design and implement individualized remedial programs to address specific disorders.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to establish both group and personalized care plans.
  • Provide guidance and educational resources to patients and their families regarding communication and swallowing challenges.
  • Ensure that patients and families are informed about the implications of hearing loss and available treatments.
Supervisory Responsibilities

You will oversee a small team of 1 to 2 support staff.

Certifications and Licenses
  • Certification from the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • Licensure as required by provincial or territorial authorities.
Safety and Transportation
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory, and a driver's validity license check will be conducted.
