About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Auto Underwriter to join our team at Co-operators. As a Commercial Auto Underwriter, you will play a critical role in reviewing and evaluating large and complex account applications to determine risk, extent of coverage, and premiums.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate account applications to determine risk and extent of coverage
  • Negotiate coverage and rates with clients and brokers
  • Participate in underwriting audits and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with brokers and clients
  • Contribute to the development of underwriting strategies and initiatives

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Auto Underwriting
  • Proven experience underwriting new business and managing risk
  • Experience in auto and transportation with a focus on medium to large accounts
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation an asset
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
