Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, clients, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct Workplace Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect and audit work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Provide Training and Coaching: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees understand health and safety policies and procedures.
- Manage Health and Safety Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records, including incident reports, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with employees, clients, and subcontractors to ensure health and safety requirements are met and to identify areas for improvement.
- Post-Secondary Certificate or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety: A recognized post-secondary certificate or degree in occupational health and safety is required.
- Provincial Health and Safety Certification: A valid provincial health and safety certification is required.
- 10+ Years of Practical Health and Safety Experience: A minimum of 10 years of practical health and safety experience is required, with 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Construction Experience: Experience in the construction industry is an asset.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation: A comprehensive understanding of occupational health and safety legislation is required.
