Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, clients, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and injuries, and develop recommendations for prevention and mitigation.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and health.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of safety data, including incident reports and hazard assessments.
  • Provide training and coaching to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Provincial Health and Safety certification with valid auditor certification.
  • 10+ years of practical health and safety experience, with 5-7 years in a similar role.
  • Experience with Certificate of Recognition (COR) certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
