Health and Safety Manager

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, clients, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate workplace incidents and injuries, and develop recommendations for prevention and mitigation.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and health, and provide training and education on health and safety procedures.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of health and safety data, including incident reports, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure a safe and effective response to emergencies.
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety matters, and ensure that all employees are aware of their health and safety responsibilities.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and regulations, and ensure that the organization is compliant with all relevant requirements.
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Provincial Health and Safety certification with valid auditor certification.
- 10+ years of practical health and safety experience, with 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Construction experience and knowledge of Certificate of Recognition (COR) certification requirements.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence others to follow safety practices and procedures.
- Solid organizational and planning skills, with the ability to delegate or escalate to management when required.
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Ability to work within a team or independently as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced computer and/or tablet/iPad experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Google Suite.
