Health and Safety Manager

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, clients, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate workplace incidents and injuries, and develop recommendations for prevention and mitigation.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and health within the organization.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of health and safety data, including incident reports and training records.
- Provide training and coaching to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry partners, to stay up-to-date on health and safety best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Provincial Health and Safety certification with valid auditor certification.
- 10+ years of practical health and safety experience, with 5-7 years in a similar role.
- Construction experience and knowledge of Certificate of Recognition (COR) certification requirements.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence others to follow safety practices and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
