About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Product Security Engineer to join our DevOps team and spearhead security initiatives throughout the development lifecycle. This role offers a unique opportunity to ensure that security measures are integrated into every phase of product development, maintaining the highest security standards for our offerings. The team is responsible for ensuring that the entire development process, from initial code submission to final release, adheres to established security protocols and guidelines. As a senior member of the DevOps team, you will collaborate closely with Development, Product teams, and System Architects to define security requirements and integrate security features into our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with System Architects and Product teams to assess product architectures for security vulnerabilities and continuously enhance secure design, development, and deployment practices.
  2. Develop a standardized set of product security requirements and create metrics to evaluate performance against these standards.
  3. Support a secure software development process, including threat modeling, secure code evaluations, and risk assessments.
  4. Provide security guidance to various stakeholders (Engineering, Product, etc.).
  5. Work with engineering teams to evaluate product security risks and devise mitigation strategies.
  6. Guide and assist development and DevOps teams in adopting secure development methodologies.
  7. Stay informed about current security threats and vulnerabilities that may affect our products.
  8. Collaborate in the development, enhancement, and management of security controls, monitoring, incident response practices, and ensure compliance with security standards.
  9. Define and review security diagnostics and tools to facilitate the reporting and analysis of security incidents.
  10. Engage with internal stakeholders and customers to identify and mitigate security risks, and respond to security incidents.
  11. Act as an advocate for security initiatives to ensure that all teams are dedicated to producing a highly secure product.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a product/application security engineer.
  2. Proficient in reviewing code in popular programming languages such as C++, Python, and JavaScript, and identifying security vulnerabilities.
  3. Extensive experience in penetration testing and utilizing well-known pen-testing tools.
  4. Familiarity with analyzing threat models from security requirements, identifying attack surfaces, and collaborating with development teams to implement necessary safeguards.
  5. Knowledge of web technologies, databases, and frameworks such as Rails and React.
  6. Understanding of cryptography and experience with network packet analysis tools and debuggers.
  7. Experience in assessing risks and vulnerabilities in container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
  8. Ability to perform risk analysis based on CVSS scores and CVEs, and identify suitable security controls.
  9. Experience analyzing results from vulnerability scanning tools and collaborating with development teams for remediation.
  10. Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  11. Experience working in cross-functional teams and sharing knowledge through documentation and discussions.
  12. Knowledge of network protocols such as CAN and tools like CAN analyzers.
  13. Capability to work remotely and in a collaborative virtual environment.
  14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
  1. Previous experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
  2. Participation in security hackathons or cybersecurity competitions is a plus.
  3. Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST SP, NIST CSF, CIS, and NERC CIP.
  4. Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, CCSP, OSCP, or CEH.
  5. Knowledge of Industrial Cybersecurity standards.
  6. Experience in the Robotics domain and familiarity with Robotics Operating Systems.
