Restaurant Host/Hostess Job Description

Boston Pizza is seeking a skilled Restaurant Host/Hostess to join our team. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train staff to provide exceptional customer service
  • Balance and deposit cash transactions
  • Liaise between chefs and customers to ensure timely food delivery
  • Inspect dining rooms and food serving areas to maintain high standards
  • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
  • Answer customer questions about menu items and preparation methods
  • Assist guests with special needs and ensure their comfort
  • Attend to seating arrangements for large groups
  • Greet customers and provide a warm welcome
  • Perform opening and closing activities to ensure a smooth service
  • Receive customer reservations and assign tables
  • Receive payments from customers
Work Environment:

As a Restaurant Host/Hostess, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity. You will be required to stand for extended periods, walk, and work under pressure to meet the demands of a busy restaurant.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Will train
