Pension and Benefits Administrator

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is seeking a highly skilled Pension and Benefits Administrator to join our team in Baker Lake, Nunavut. As a key member of our payroll, pensions, and benefits team, you will be responsible for administering our corporate benefits and pension plans, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance to employees on pension and benefits matters, including service buy-backs, disability options, retirement, and dependent coverage.
  • Collaborate with management and HR to address pension and benefits-related issues and concerns.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with pension and benefits regulations and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate enrollment and deductions for employees.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in pension and benefits legislation and service offerings.
  • Reconcile payment remittances to prevent errors and ensure accuracy.
  • Support the Manager, Payroll, Pensions, and Benefits with ad-hoc reports and projects.
Requirements:
  • Two-year college diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in pension and benefits administration.
Assets:
  • Completion of or working towards a certification in pension and benefits administration (CEBS, GBA, RPA, PCP).
  • Knowledge of Nunavut, its land, language, and culture.
  • Proficiency in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, and/or French.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,161.48 to $91,616.04 and a northern living allowance of $24,281.00 per annum. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a defined-benefit pension program. Subsidized staff housing is also available for this position. This role is included in the Nunavut Employees' Union. Preference will be given to Nunavut Inuit. Open until filled.
