Procurement Operations Manager

Position Overview
The Government of Nunavut is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the procurement process for various goods and services. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of supply chain activities while adhering to established guidelines and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the consistent application of procurement policies and procedures in line with financial administration standards.
- Manage the logistics of fuel supply, overseeing the annual distribution of 40 million liters and coordinating the transportation of bulk goods.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders to assess needs and set priorities.
- Provide strategic input for logistical support and inventory management to fulfill organizational requirements.
- Assist in the formulation and execution of supply chain objectives and the development of procurement policies.
- Collaborate with regional teams to enhance system technologies, ensuring data accuracy for financial reporting.
- Work closely with finance personnel to ensure proper recording and allocation of received and committed items.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of direct experience in Supply Chain Management at a managerial or senior level.
- At least three years of supervisory experience in a similar environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the diesel power generation sector.
- Familiarity with NNI Policy.
- Knowledge of transportation logistics in the Canadian North, including air and marine routes.
- Understanding of Nunavut’s culture, language, and geography.
- Proficiency in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, or French is an asset.
