Job Overview

The Senior Contracts Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters, acting as a liaison between business units and the Legal department while providing essential support for contract-related activities.

This position demands exceptional interpersonal abilities and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with various internal teams, including Finance and Legal. The Senior Contracts Specialist may also be tasked with preparing reports and delivering presentations to Senior Leadership regarding ongoing and upcoming contract matters.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all Biopharma and Provider Solutions (BPS) contracts within Apttus, ensuring proper filing, updates, and serving as the intermediary between business and legal Assist the business in drafting and negotiating various contracts (NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, etc.) and organize them within the contract management system Prepare and facilitate RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders Coordinate all contract/document management and administrative tasks related to existing programs, including tracking contractual obligations and liaising with internal departments for necessary actions Review draft scopes of work/specifications, advising requestors on enhancements prior to submission to legal Manage and evaluate contractual requests submitted through Central Intake Process and monitor the completion of documents in Docusign Oversee Salesforce and Apttus software access and collaborate with developers on system enhancements required by the department and business units Process contracts through Apttus from initial draft to full execution, including reviewing and commenting on contracts submitted by requestors, submitting and reviewing contracts with legal, and finalizing and storing fully executed contracts in Apttus. Document key features and terms in Apttus for easy tracking. Design, implement, and monitor a contract tracking system to ensure accuracy, compliance, and version control Manage the lifecycle of contracts and advise stakeholders on critical contract milestones, such as renewal deadlines Train users on accessing and utilizing the Contract Management Software and Salesforce. Assess and manage contractual risks, collaborating closely with legal and other relevant departments to identify potential risks in contracts, propose mitigation strategies, and develop a risk assessment framework to ensure compliance with policies and regulations

General Duties

Process legal requests submitted through Central Intake and manage enhancements to requestor, contract management, and legal applications in Central Intake Provide constructive feedback to business partners to ensure processes are defensible in internal and external audits specific to Contract Management Act as a Subject Matter Expert in supporting the business with document requirements, Salesforce, Docusign, Apttus, and X-Author management Create training materials and update SOPs to support the department and business regarding the processing of contracts and legal requests submitted through Central Intake. Conduct individual training for new users or group training for enhancements to the contract management software Possess strong knowledge of McKesson Biopharma and Provider Solutions offerings to understand interdependencies between different business units Ability to plan, schedule, and organize a variety of activities that address complex issues with tight deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy Demonstrate leadership skills by providing direction to others without formal management responsibilities Assist with special projects as needed Identify opportunities for process optimization within the contract management lifecycle, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for contract management activities, generating regular reports for senior management to provide insights into contract performance, compliance, and potential areas for improvement Foster and maintain positive relationships with vendors, serving as a key liaison between the organization and external partners, ensuring effective communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration throughout the contract lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications

At least 5 years of direct experience in Program Management and contract management, preferably within the Healthcare sector An undergraduate degree or Paralegal professional/Law clerk experience is preferred

Knowledgeable about the components of MSA, NDA, and SOWs Superior business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, Apttus) Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization and promote harmony among team members, other McKesson employees/divisions, and external stakeholders Strategic perspective with the ability to effectively manage details and make decisions based on sound knowledge and good judgment Experience working in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating service demands is essential Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interface with program/project stakeholders as well as internal and external customers Proficiency in French (Bilingualism) is considered an asset
