Job Title: Family Program Facilitator

Job Summary:

The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Program Facilitator to join our team. As a Family Program Facilitator, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for families with young children, providing support and resources to help them thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs and activities that promote early childhood development and family well-being
  • Provide support and resources to families, including parenting education and referrals to community services
  • Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance program delivery and impact
  • Collaborate with other YMCA staff and community agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to family support
  • Conduct home visits and provide in-home support to families as needed
  • Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Educator Certificate or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience working with families and young children in a group or individual setting
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development and family support principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to speak additional languages is an asset

  • Self-Management – ability to appropriately manage one's own emotions and strong feelings; maintain a calm and tactful composure under a broad range of challenging circumstances; and think clearly and stay focused under pressure. Encompasses self-regulation and mindfulness.
  • Teamwork/Cooperation – ability to work cooperatively and productively with others within and across organizational units to achieve common goals; demonstrate respect, cooperation, collaboration, and consensus-building.
