SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF ASSET OVERSIGHT

Midland Transport, a leader in the Transportation sector with over five decades of experience, is seeking a Senior Vice President of Asset Oversight. This pivotal role is integral to our continued success across Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, and the northeastern United States. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee safety initiatives, aiming for zero incidents while fostering a culture of safety through the development of comprehensive policies and training programs.
  • Establish and implement an asset management framework, defining key performance indicators and ensuring effective daily management.
  • Develop and manage the fleet maintenance budget, ensuring adherence and presenting budget forecasts.
  • Monitor and manage facility budgets for all terminals and maintenance shops, directing long-term planning for maintenance projects.
  • Collaborate with operations to gather input and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Direct capital expenditure strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals for both fleet and facilities.
  • Manage fleet requirements to meet operational demands, ensuring optimal equipment placement.
  • Implement maintenance plans to enhance fleet reliability and efficiency.
  • Supervise internal maintenance shop performance and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with external maintenance providers to ensure quality service across North America.
  • Ensure all facilities meet safety and operational standards.
  • Guide the strategic direction of Midland's real estate portfolio in collaboration with procurement teams.
  • Lead procurement and sourcing strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance operations.
  • Mentor and develop leaders in maintenance and engineering, fostering a culture aligned with our core values.
  • Collaborate with various departments to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements at federal, provincial, and local levels.
  • Provide strategic guidance to affiliate companies regarding equipment purchases and maintenance setups.
