The Diversity Organization is a global nonprofit that empowers low-income and minority students to achieve corporate and high-income careers. We partner with leading companies to provide students with access to professional development workshops, internships, and entry-level positions.
Event Host Role
We are seeking an experienced Event Host to join our team in Canada. As an Event Host, you will be responsible for hosting events with big brands and companies, including panel discussions and workshops. You will work closely with our creative team to develop new services and systems, and collaborate with industry leaders to provide valuable insights to our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Host events with big brands and companies, including panel discussions and workshops
- Collaborate with our creative team to develop new services and systems
- Work with industry leaders to provide valuable insights to our students
- Attend rehearsals and training sessions to ensure a smooth event experience
- Provide feedback on workshops and panels to help us improve our services
Requirements
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and confidently with employees from big brands and students from low-income and minority communities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work part-time and varied shifts
- Passionate and creative commitment to issues of race and identity
- Positive attitude and ability to engage with guests and audiences from a wide range of perspectives
