Position Overview: Production Supervisor

We are actively seeking a Production Supervisor to guide and support our Fuel Bundle Assembly Production team. This role is essential in ensuring operational efficiency and fostering a positive work environment.

The Production Supervisor will exhibit leadership by effectively communicating business objectives, programs, and processes to the production team. This position requires leveraging your expertise to address challenges, set and achieve goals for yourself and your team, and contribute to both short-term and long-term business objectives.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the incumbent will collaborate with various office personnel and shop floor employees, ensuring effective communication and engagement in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety and quality in all operations.
  • Develop and implement production line strategies aligned with departmental budgetary goals.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production schedules in accordance with operational budgets.
  • Oversee daily production activities and adjust as necessary to meet production targets.
  • Provide direction to meet the needs of each production area, including workforce management, work assignments, and training.
  • Create and manage a training schedule focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Maintain open communication channels between employees and management.
  • Optimize the use of resources and assets for maximum efficiency.
  • Conduct monthly inventory assessments to meet business and customer expectations.
  • Encourage and facilitate Lean Manufacturing principles through training and support for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient work-in-progress materials.
  • Develop and enhance a Visual Workplace, including performance metrics and training program updates.
  • Support the professional growth of all team members.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding attendance and safety.
  • Collaborate with leadership to cultivate a motivated workforce aligned with business goals.
  • Work with HR to foster a performance-driven work environment, including timely performance evaluations and necessary disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial management, or engineering is preferred, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong planning, communication, and execution skills.
  • Ability to treat all employees fairly and equitably.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.
  • Willingness to participate in emergency response activities.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as required.

The salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on local market factors and the candidate's qualifications. The total compensation package may include additional elements such as cash incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
