Position Overview: Production Supervisor
We are currently in search of a Production Supervisor to lead and support our Fuel Bundle Assembly Production team. This role is pivotal in driving operational success and fostering a productive work environment.
The Production Supervisor will play a key role in articulating business objectives, programs, and processes for the production team. In this capacity, you will leverage your expertise to address challenges, set and achieve goals for yourself and your team, and contribute to both short-term and long-term business strategies.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position necessitates effective communication and collaboration with various office personnel (EHS, Quality, ME's) as well as shop floor staff, ensuring clear and constructive dialogue throughout daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety and quality in all operations.
- Develop and implement production line strategies aligned with departmental budgetary goals.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production schedules while adhering to operational budgets.
- Oversee daily production activities and make necessary adjustments to meet production targets.
- Provide guidance to support the operational needs of each production area, including workforce management, scheduling, and training.
- Create and manage a comprehensive employee training program focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Maintain open communication channels between employees and management.
- Optimize the use of resources and assets for maximum efficiency.
- Conduct monthly inventory assessments to meet business and customer expectations.
- Encourage and facilitate Lean Manufacturing principles through effective training for project teams.
- Manage shop floor inventory to ensure adequate work-in-progress materials.
- Support the development of a Visual Workplace, including project boards and performance metrics.
- Foster employee growth and development.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding attendance and safety.
- Collaborate with leadership to cultivate a motivated workforce aligned with business objectives.
- Work with HR and management to create a performance-driven work environment, including timely performance evaluations and necessary disciplinary actions.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial management, or engineering is preferred, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong planning, communication, and execution skills.
- Ability to treat all employees fairly and equitably.
- Excellent organizational capabilities.
- Experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.
- Willingness to participate in Emergency Response Team activities.
- Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as needed.
