We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team at BWX Technologies, Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist will be responsible for estimating and executing a broad range of manufacturing projects, from commercial and custom manufactured parts to sophisticated nuclear equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for custom-engineered manufacturing projects.
  • Provide manufacturing inputs to the design process and participate in manufacturability reviews.
  • Plan and lead jobs through manufacturing, including machining, welding, assembly, and test.
  • Write instructions and identify, design, and procure fixtures and required tooling.
  • Prepare Manufacturing Bills of Material and perform make vs buy evaluations.
  • Manage design changes and maintain configuration of the design during manufacturing.
  • Lead and participate in project meetings related to schedules and budgets.
  • Troubleshoot production problems with design and manufacturing teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing activities.
Qualifications:
  • College/University graduate in an Engineering discipline or a certificate in a skilled trade.
  • 5+ years of experience in custom manufacturing.
  • Knowledge and experience with machining, fitting/welding, assembly, and materials.
  • High level of proficiency with data analysis and management.
  • Demonstrated ability in project planning and execution.
