Marine Operations Director

About the Opportunity:
Hornblower Cruises and Events is seeking a seasoned Marine leader to manage and lead the Marine department. This includes vessel operations, capital improvements, systems maintenance and repairs, and financial management of the marine department. The Director is responsible for the execution of the Port's cruises to ensure consistently high levels of safety, quality, service, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a high level of profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Marine Operations Department
  2. Oversee new vessel builds, equipment upgrades, vessel maintenance and repair, including major rehabs and equipment overhauls
  3. Manage and oversee all capital purchasing and manage the department's budget
  4. Ensure compliance with all provincial, federal and industry specific legislation and company standards set for all projects and daily operations
  5. Develop and maintain external relationships with authorities, regulators, local stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and consultants

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in marine operations and management
  2. Strong leadership and project management skills
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to manage budgets and financial resources
  5. Knowledge of provincial, federal and industry specific legislation and company standards
